Catch and Release of Trout over 20" is a best practice, and the law now in Texas. For other places, it's highly suggested. It's been proven that a 20" female Specked Trout can produce up to 20 Million Eggs during the spawn. These are the breeders. Big trout are rare so let them go to pass on those great genetics so we all can enjoy them over and over again. In the last 40 years the limit has gone from 20 to 3 fish in Texas.
